About horizontal blinds

Horizontal blinds have two components to operate the blind.

The mechanism that raises and lowers the blinds is called the LIFT. The other mechanism necessary to operate a blind is called the TILTER. The TILTER will either be a cord or a wand. You will usually be able to choose which you would like, cord or wand, to operate your blinds. With most blinds, the LIFT is on the right and the TILTER is on the left.

You may have the option to reverse this designation, or you may prefer to have both operating mechanisms on the same side. You may also consider a cordless variety.

These horizontal blinds are available in a variety of pleat sizes. Bigger pleats allow for better insulation.

Another option is the single, double or triple celled, or honeycomb, shade. More cells allow for better insulation.
